Bargaining is suggested to get the moderate prize for the thing that is bought. Do: For hygiene reasons take foods only at the high- class restaurants. Drink only the purified water bottle and the cold-cans that are not opened yet. Take warm foods only. Dont's Some foods that are sold on the side streets are not healthy. As restaurants in Myanmar usually put some kind of artificial sweetening agent for seasoning food ( monosodium glutamate ) if you are allergic to that you have to say in advance when ordering the foods. Do : When giving or receiving something please use your right hand. Hand shakes in not needed always when meeting with the women. Take off your shoes and foot wears when you are going to religious locations such as pagodas and monasteries. Gives respect to the image of Buddha. International tourists should deal with respect when meeting with the monks, nuns and novices. Take a lower position when meeting them. Don'ts: Avoid the acts such like kissing in public. As Myanmar assumes their heads as a noble part of the body avoid touching the head. Passing through over one's body is regarded as an insult and so avoid doing it. As Myanmar has a hot and moist weather put on cotton cloth or cotton fabrics. Don't forget to bring hats, sun glasses and sun cream and sun lotion when you are going to the sea side beach resorts. Dont's: International tourist especially the women should refrain from putting on the pants , mini skirts and those dresses which expose a large portion of the body. Do: Do not forget to bring the medicines that you usually take including antibiotics and anti mosquito repellent lotion or cream and which protects sun burns.
