Home Medicare Service What sparked the innovative idea in Yangon? Inspired by the personal experience of one of its Directors and long but yet to be materialized idea of his associates, Home Medicare Service was established on August 2001 with 5 members Board of Directors. One of the aims which HMS is currently achieving in its early stage is contributing towards educating the public in terms of health and medical wellbeing by providing free consulation via its hotline. Now in its eight months of operation,HMS has received much recognition and has an average of 5 appointment cases per day.Though concentrating only for Yangon area, HMS goes a long way till Bago & Thanhlyn providing 24 hours home medical service. What is involved in a HMS appointment?
- Call is received by the MO on duty. MO accesses the situation and offer preliminary advide to the patient and informs the doctor of the nature of the case to ensure that proper medication is include and if needed be alerts other parties in cases of emgegecy.
- A doctor, nurse,nurse aid and the driver sets off to the patient location.
- Patient is examined and treated accordingly.Though the required medication is on board the HMS vehicle, patients are given a choice either buy it from HMS or outside vendors.
- After the consultation,HMS team drives back to the Head Office.
