Date:8/8/2010 Myanmar to take part in CABIS mining forum |
Myanmar will participate in the China-ASEAN Mining Cooperation Forum for the first time at the 7th annual China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) next month. The Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) is leading a group of 30 officials, and will use the forum to deliver a presentation on mining exports and the level of investment in the sector. CABIS will be held in Nanning China, from September 6 to 7, and the body has sponsored 15 exhibition booths at a cost of US$550 each for the Mining Cooperation Forum.

The 47th Gems Emporium will be held in Yangon from March 8-20 at the Myanmar Convention Center. The event will see numerous jade, gems and pearl lots go under the hammer via tenders and auction. Union of Myanmar Economic Holding Limited (UMEHL), which owns 15 mines in Mogok, Mineshu at Kachin State, will collect its gems from those mines to show at this emporium. UMEHL also holds gems shows by itself but they are planning to sell their gems and jades at this emporium.
