President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry and party met Israeli Ambassador to Myanmar and Personnel concerned of Myanmar Israel Business Association at RUMFCCI Office on 9 July. The meeting focused on signing of MoU on bilateral trade and economic cooperation, agricultural technological transfer and sending of trainees to Israel, cooperation in development of information technology and Israel 2011 Exhibition & Conference to be held in Israel on November.

A new online store offering access to global internet sales giants was launched in early July. The store, which can be viewed at, www.defamilyonlinestore.com, offers customer the change to buy through online stores such as Amazon, eBay and Best Buy; it also offers Kachin traditional medicines, clothing and other traditional products. Customers must pay down payments equal to half the value of the total purchase at the company's office in Sanchung township and the rest is due when the delivery is made between three and 14 days later.

Date:5/26/2011 IT business contest slated for October |
Myanmar Computer Professionals Association will host an IT business plan contest in October in collaboration with Cambodia International Education Support Foundation of Japan (CIESF). The contest was open to everyone and was aimed at boosting creativity in the IT field and attracting more people to the industry. Any Myanmar citizen who is interested can take part in this contest, which will be divided into three mobile-related categories: medicine, education and social networks. Entrants can compete in all three categories but must submit applications that include a description of the product, the business model, its social benefits and its unique advantages. Each of those descriptions has a 150 word limit. Application forms can be downloaded from www.myanmarictawards.org and must be submitted no later than September 15. The association will select the 10 best candidates on September 22 and give them a week's training in mobile applications before they complete in the final on October 13. The winner of the competition will be announced on October 16 and will receive the equivalent of US $3000 in Kyat on October 20.

Monsoon ICT Fair 2011,led by Myanmar Computer Federation and jointly organized by Myanmar Computer Professional Association and Myanmar Computer Industry Association, will be conducted commencing from 19 August to 21,2011 at Tatmadaw Hall. The fair will be opened from 9 am to 5 pm and ICT companies, electronic companies, training schools and mobile companies will display their accessories in it. A company can available to rent up to six booths in maximum and fees for booths must be paid on 14 August. The rest booths are being sold before the exhibition. Companies wanted to display their goods may contact to Myanmar Computer Professional Association (Phone: 652238) and deadline is July 14.
