Students are very interested in pursuing education at Myanmar Maritime University which is one of the reliable institutes. Myanmar Maritime University of the Ministry of Transport was opened on 1 August in 2002 at Institute of Maine Technology at Hsinmalike in Kamaryut Township in Yangon Region. On 1 December 2003, the institute was moved to Thilawa area in Thanlyin Township. Previously, Myanmar Maritime University accepted male student only. Since 2008-09, 77 female students, 20 per cent of number of students
the university can hold, were allowed to attend. There were only 225 students at the time when the University was opened. Now 2124 male and female students are taking the respective course at the university. With the aim of
ensuring the students of international university, arrangements are being
made to provide lectures in accord with training standard for seafarers set by
International Maritime Organization, standard for internationally-recognized
university and standards set bu ASEAN Universities Network and the university is turning out skillful seafarers.

2011 Examination for Japanese University Admission for international students (EJU) will be held on 13 November and application form can be available from 4 July to 29 at the office of Myanmar Alumni Japan Association. The Exam is (EJU) 2nd Session held by Japan Student Services Organization, Student Exchange Department, Testing Division and those who have passed the exam can study the Japan Universities and can also get the scholars. The exam can be sat two times per a year in June and November, it was learnt.

Date:4/12/2011 Trainings for French Languages to be opened |
Institution of Franchise which is French Languages training School, the former name "Alliance Franchise", will open courses on the second week of July. Any interested person can enroll commencing from 21st June and the costs of training for Monday to Friday are US$ 16 per one month, for the rest weekends are US$20. A course on the culture of French taught by Myanmar language has been commenced and US$ 15 must be paid for 24 hours as training fees.
