Japan- Myanmar Friendship Volleyball Competition opened on 2 March
The opening ceremony of the Japan- Myanmar Friendship Volleyball competition was held at Yangon National Stadium No.1 ( Thuwunna ) at 3 p.m. on 2 March, it was learnt. The second match of Myanmar-Japan Friendship event will be held at that stadium at 3 p.m. on 4 March.

Final matches of 2004-2005 Grand Royal Special Reserve Golf tournament to be held at City Golf Club in Yangon
By the sponsorship of Myanmar Naingngan Golf Federation and jointly arranged by International Beverages Trading Co. Ltd. and Han Event Management the Final matches of the 2004-2005 Grand Royal Special Reserve Golf tournament will be held at the Yangon City Golf Resort on 5 and 6 march, it was learnt. On 6 March with the Final event of the Golf a Pro-Am tournament will also be held.

Finished Timber Production Training School to be opened at Dagon Myothit in March
It was learnt that Finished Timber Production Training School will be opened at Dagon Myothit ( north) in March. The Training School is under construction by Taw Win Construction Limited under the supervision of Myanmar Timber Enterprise Association by the assistance of the Ministry of Forestry. After the school is completed not only the workers and staff personnel employed at the private and government owned sawmills but also the outsiders who are interested in the finished timber production can attend the class, and the private trainees who have completed the course will also be appointed at the private finished timber production sawmills.

A Seminar on the subjects taught at Hartford Business School, Raffles Design Institute ( Singapore )& e-learning program held at MICT Park in Mandalay
An educational seminar sponsored by the Raffles Education Corporation about the subjects that can be learn at the Hartford Business School and at the Raffles Design Institute in Singapore and the subjects that can be learn by e-learning Program in Myanmar was held at 1 p.m. on 14 February at MICT Park in Mandalay. The first ever Doctorate in B.Com conferred
Yangon Institute of Economics has conferred the first ever Doctorate B.Com at the 39th Convocation of YIE that was held at Yangon University Convocation Hall on 13 February. The degree of Doctorate for two, the degree of Master for 233, 990 graduates and Post Diploma for 200 were conferred respective subjects at the graduation ceremony.

A Myanmar Forest delegation will attend Malaysia International Furniture Exhibition
A 10-member delegation led by Joint Secretary of the Myanmar Forest Products and Timber Merchants Association left Yangon by air on 2 March morning for Malaysia to attend Malaysia International Furniture Exhibition 2005 to be held in Kuala Lumpur from 3 to 7 March.

BIMSTEC Tourism Ministerial Workshop held at Calcutta
The Ministerial workshop BINSTEC Tourism organized with Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal had held at Calcutta from 21 to 23 February, Myanmar private tourism delegation, consisting of 12 representatives from five private travel agencies and three hotels had attended at the workshop.

Panpyolatt Arts Gallery opens
The third Panpyolatt Arts Gallery of teachers of the Arts Department under the University of Culture (Yangon) was opened at the National Museum on Pyay Road Yangon on 14 January morning. Altogether 117 paintings including water colour paintings and oil paintings were put on display. The Show continues until 21 January.
