Nikon Online Photo Competition for own e-mail users held by Big Camera Ltd.
Sponsored by the Big Camera Ltd, who is the sole agent of Nikon (Singapore) and Myanmar will held competition for the e-mail own users via Internet free of charge. Interested persons can send 3 photos every month during 7 up to 25 of that month by using his own e-mail , the photo must be taken by digital cameras and the contest must be incompatible with the title laid down by the Monthly Organizing Committee for the Competition. Myanmar Baseball Federation officially formed on 7 February
The Myanmar Baseball Federation Organizing Committee has officially formed the Myanmar Baseball Federation on 7 February, it was learnt. At present, there are 13 selected sportsmen at the Federation and the Federation has a plan to go to Japan during the rainy season for training comprising the Manager, Coach and sportsmen, it was learnt.

Finished Timber Production Training School to be opened at Dagon Myothit in March
It was learnt that Finished Timber Production Training School will be opened at Dagon Myothit ( north) in March. The Training School is under construction by Taw Win Construction Limited under the supervision of Myanmar Timber Enterprise Association by the assistance of the Ministry of Forestry. After the school is completed not only the workers and staff personnel employed at the private and government owned sawmills but also the outsiders who are interested in the finished timber production can attend the class, and the private trainees who have completed the course will also be appointed at the private finished timber production sawmills.

Website Design Course by MIT opening on 7 March
It was learnt that Myanmar Information Technology ( MIT ) will open a Course on Website Design on 7 March. At the Course, Website Design Tool ( Micromedia Dream Weaver), and Graphic Fundamentals and Website Fundamentals will be taught during 10 days. The tuition fee is Kyat 15,000. The Website drawn by the trainee will be launched on the Internet free of charge for one year.

The first ever Doctorate in B.Com conferred
Yangon Institute of Economics has conferred the first ever Doctorate B.Com at the 39th Convocation of YIE that was held at Yangon University Convocation Hall on 13 February. The degree of Doctorate for two, the degree of Master for 233, 990 graduates and Post Diploma for 200 were conferred respective subjects at the graduation ceremony.

Technology to produce the fibers from the Pine Apple tree to be distributed by the Directorate of Cottage Industry
As the producing of fibers from the trees of the Pine Apple is successfully implemented by the Directorate of the Cottage Industry and the Department is willing to distribute the technology to those who wanted to use that technology to produce fiber.. According to the research works done, 5 grams of Pine Apple fiber can be produced from the pine apple trees weighing about 50 ticals.

China provided modern Meteorological surveying equipments to Myanmar
The Peoples’ Republic of China has provided the modern meteorological surveying equipments to the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in Myanmar. The equipments provided by China are Automatic Weather Surveying (AWS), and the V Sat ( Via Satellite ) which can function the exchange of the information proficiently that are essential in meteorological surveying.

BIMSTEC Tourism Ministerial Workshop held at Calcutta
The Ministerial workshop BINSTEC Tourism organized with Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Bhutan and Nepal had held at Calcutta from 21 to 23 February, Myanmar private tourism delegation, consisting of 12 representatives from five private travel agencies and three hotels had attended at the workshop.

Panpyolatt Arts Gallery opens
The third Panpyolatt Arts Gallery of teachers of the Arts Department under the University of Culture (Yangon) was opened at the National Museum on Pyay Road Yangon on 14 January morning. Altogether 117 paintings including water colour paintings and oil paintings were put on display. The Show continues until 21 January.
