|
Myanmar, Group A dark horses, upset the home funs by leaving a goalless draw to the host Indonesia in the opeaning match of the Tiger Cup 2002 held at the Senayan stadium,Indonesia on Sunday (15/12/02)
Myanmar Coach, David Booth , was pleased by the performance of the players and comment that
" the match against Indonesia was the hardest I have seen them play and I'm happy that we didn't give Indonesia any free shorts in the box.
I was hoping to win the game and I delighted to see them turn out such a performance"
Myanmar, buoyed by their sizzling performance against the hosts, will be out for the kill in their remaining matches
so they can top the group and most likely avoid defending champions Thailand in the crossover semi-final on Dec 27. Their
next taget will be the Philippines and because the battle for the two semi-finals berths is wide open, will be aiming for a big win.
" my team is ready " Myat Min said. " We will give it our best ".
Booth ( Coach for Myanmar ) also said his team would take the same approach as they did against Indonesia. " There is only one way for us to go, we must approach the game with the same attitude "
