| Vietnam stop Myanmar winning streak and eliminate from entering to semi's
|
Myanmar needed to beat Vietnam to move on and they had a good
start when Lwin Oo's waist-high shot sailed past the goalkeeper in the 29th minute but Myanmar's joy didi not last long
as Vietnam levelled the match before the first-half. Myanmar could have the regained the lead just before half-time when Zaw Htaik fired a free kick went over the crossbar.
Vietnam got an early lead in the second-half, which made it worsen for Myanmar. With the dismiss of one player from the Vietnam team makes Myanmar in a better position but the 10 men Vietnam
team dug in and extended their lead in the 67th minute. Myanmar team was was drifted further away from a place in the last four when penalty given to Vietnam in the 72nd minute.
Htay Aung pulled a goal back but Myanmar's hope were extinguished.

Myanmar Coach, David Booth
was disappointed with the team performance and said that " the goal in the early second half made it really difficult for us".
Vietnam, who finished as the group champions with 10 points from four games, will be joined by hosts Indonesia in the semi-finals. Vietnam will meet with the defanding champions Thailand and co-host Indonesia will meet with
group B leader Malaysia.
Young Myanmar team should have learnt something from this Tiger Cup and hopefully the team will make better result in the next Tiger Cup 2004.
